VETP Workshops deliver insightful learning experiences about carbon emissions markets, market mechanisms, corporate strategy and risk management. - An understanding of the structures, instruments, and mechanisms of emissions trading - the relationship between international and domestic emissions trading schemes; design elements such as cap-and-trade versus baseline and credit; setting scheme targets; scope and coverage; the nature of permits (or allowances); allocation; banking and borrowing; compliance issues; and linkage between schemes
- Ability to identify, analyse and rank risk management options
- Ability to analyse and execute the strategies and techniques of permit allocation, auctions and trading
- An understand the role of government (or scheme regulator) and the impact of its decisions and interventions
- Insights into inherent market constraints and potential market control mechanisms
